Upon meeting you in Marrakech, we’ll go on a scenic drive into the High Atlas Mountains, heading toward Oukaimeden at 2600 meters. As we wind our way through cultivated fields, we’ll encounter a variety of resident bird species like the Southern Grey Shrike, Little Owl, Sardinian Warbler, Spotless Starling, Moroccan Magpie, Moussier’s Redstart, and House Bunting.

Today, we journey from Merzouga to Ouarzazate, driving through the breathtaking Anti Atlas Mountains, known for their dramatic rocky hills, cliffs, and deep gorges formed by ancient volcanic activity. Along the way, we'll stop for some roadside birding, where we may spot White crowned Wheatears and Southern Grey Shrikes.

Before arriving at our hotel in Ouarzazate, we’ll explore the Barrage at Mansour Eddahbi, a haven for birdlife. Here, we might catch sight of Ruddy Shelducks gliding gracefully across the water, Black winged Stilts, and the elusive Maghreb Lark.

Cormorants, Herons, and a variety of waders also call this area home, offering a fantastic opportunity for birdwatching. After a day full of natural wonders, we’ll settle in for a delicious dinner and a restful night in Ouarzazate.
